In addition to our scheduled activities, we regularly
organize special
events and outings for our guests.
Here are some examples:
Star
Gazing with a Celestron Telescope
A
world away from smog and light pollution, Tobago's night
sky
is a wonder to behold. You will be astounded at the
number of
stars and other celestial bodies that can be seen
through our
clear, clean
atmosphere.
Let
our guide point out the various constellations, the
topography of the moon and those planets and galaxies
that are in the night sky
above.
Note:
A special tour to an observatory can be booked for an
additional
fee.
Nighttime
Forest Walks
Our
knowledgeable guide will accompany you on a clear
night through the rain forest which is very much alive during
the nighttime hours.
Come
see the nocturnal animals and birds in their natural
habitat. Among the various types of wildlife you will meet are
busy armadillos, night heron and of course several varieties
of owls and bats.
Gold
Star Talent
Competition
Come
with us to the "Golden Star" talent competition where
you can enjoy watching Tobago's version of "Star Search".
Applaud and encourage talented steel band musicians,
singers and dancers who are perhaps destined to be future
stars of stage and screen.
Sublime Weddings
Give us your wish
list, big or small, and we will arrange
everything from the minister to the chocolate-covered ants
and/or anything else in between.
Turtle
Watch (seasonal) and BBQ
This outing takes place when large numbers of turtles
arrive annually to lay their eggs at Tobago beaches.
Scarborough
Market and Botanical Gardens
This
combination trip takes place on Saturday market day
in the fascinating capital town of Scarborough where we take
you to see the farmer's market with exotic local produce.
Try
such appetizing local specialties as savory hot fish pie or
coconut loaves !
In
addition we accompany you on a visit to the Botanical
Gardens to view and admire the amazingly beautiful and
well-tended collection of native trees, plants and flowers.
Little
Tobago Island Sightseeing Tour
This
guided tour takes you to the inviting offshore island of
Little Tobago which is located just off of the village of
Speyside. It is one of the most important seabird sanctuaries
in the Caribbean as well as being home to several rare land
birds. To top this off, the scenery is truly spectacular.
The
island is a wildlife sanctuary and the unique deciduous
forest contains rare specimens like the Silver Thatch Palm
and the Banana Wood Tree.
Goat
Racing
Goat racing is taken seriously in
Tobago.
Trainers
raise and condition their goats like horse breeders
with their
thoroughbreds, and jockeys favor certain goats just
like in horse
racing. But in goat racing, the jockeys run at the
side of their
goats, holding them with a rope.
Like
horse racing, spectators can place bets and there is a
board listing
the number and name of each goat.
Ladies
and gentlemen! Place your bets and good luck.
...They're off!
