we found it came as close to the template of Caribbean perfection as you
can find."

Sited at the southern tail of the
Caribbean archipelago, Tobago, with a
population of 50,000 people,
is approximately 21 miles long
and 7 miles
wide. It is surrounded by a pristine shoreline and unspoiled coral reefs
which are great for snorkeling, swimming, diving and fishing.

The tranquil white sand beaches,
the secluded bays of the Caribbean
coast and the rocky shoreline
of the Atlantic coast rise up to a central
ridge of volcanic hills
which reaches 1,900 ft at its highest point.

The central highlands are covered
in dense rainforest intersected by
river valleys and waterfalls.
This is one of the oldest rainforests in the
hemisphere and is
home to over 210 species of tropical birds as well
as a great
variety of mammals, reptiles and tropical
flora.

Tobago is one of the most beautiful
and least-spoiled islands in the
Caribbean. Locals are genuinely
friendly and helpful. Lodging ranges
from budget-priced
guesthouses to independently-owned rental homes to
international resorts and includes a choice
of apartments and cottages
